Desert Places or Snowy Forests?

In this poem there are so many condradictions its crazy! Kind of funny, but it makes it significant and even more interesting than the simple poem you see when you just look at it.  You see talk about snow which is very contradictory to the title of the poem desert places, also, woods are mentioned and normally, when thinking of a desert you don't necessarily consider woods being everywhere, nor is that the first thing that pops in your head.  Also, space is mentioned, yes, you picture lots of open space when you originally think of a desert, but when reading this poem, you may find yourself thinking more about actual space, like outerspace before you consider open space.  With so many things to consider in a poem makes the poem even better.  Its broad.  Its not soley focusing on one and only one thing.  I liked this poem!

Interesting, i never thought of outerspace when i read this. I just kept thinking about the speaker's feelings of loneliness and depression. I also thought maybe he referred to both snow and desert places because both are empty, open, and lonely? like the way the speaker feels.
