The 8th Habit

Posted by Michael Arnzen at 20:44 in Theory.

Stephen Covey (author of the classic self-help book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) has a new book out on The 8th Habit. What is it? To
"find your voice and inspire others to find theirs."

Sounds an awful lot like what it means to be a teacher to me.

Read all about it in Patricia Kitchen's column in Newsday. (I learned about this from The Occupational Adventure, a site about thriving at work by Curt Rosengren, a "Passion Catalyst" (tm) who is cited in Kitchen's piece. I recommend his entry, "Play your way to your best work" which might boost your morale if your planning your Spring term courses).

I have Covey's book, Seven Habits, sitting in my bathroom. It's definitely a good read.
