The Bear Minimum
Okay, so I have officially kicked off this blog. It's kind of thrilling really... much like eating ice cream on a roller coaster. So who knows when this thing will just fly off and hit the face of the fellow sitting behind me. And when it does, I'm outta here!
Anyways, For the time being I have decided to go with the minimalist approach to my blog. Or at least that's what I am going to say until I figure out how to make this thing look SEXY! I guess this is a tad more complicated to use than my other blog... yeah, that's right, I have another blog.
Ya see, unknown to most of you, back home (Monaca, PA... but don't tell anyone, I'm not that proud) I am in an improv/sketch comedy troop. Yeah, actually we are tiny celebrities in Beaver County. In my book, when Donny Iris personally shakes your hand and tells YOU that you are AWESOME, you become a celebrity. This has happened to me twice... so there! Anyways, I am in this comedy group called The Cellar Dwellers. I have been in it for over 6 years now (so I have been acting with them since I was twelve). We do alot of improvisation (think Whose Line is it Anyways?) and sketch comedy (think SNL... only actually funny!) and have been doing such shows over the past six years. I have been in over 300 different shows, that we have written, rehearsed and performed every week until 2001. In 2001 we lost our theater and had to do shows on the road and at local colleges. To this day I am still doing shows with them at different places....
Okay, now, at the same time I am their webmaster. And our webpage is pretty cool (I have a limited knowledge of HTML, but Dreamweaver is fun) and we just recently got a blog (thanks to an article I read in MacWorld.) The blog has been going well for us, there are four of us that actually post on it. One member, Joe, likes to get drunk and post, but I prefer to post in between classes.
I think you should check out the Dweller website. Not only is it a cool work in progress, it is a cool way to see what I do for fun (don't make any jokes like "aside from that asian prostitute" and "your mom"). And of course I am going to pitch my next show...
So if you live within an hour or so of Beaver County, you should definitely make the trek there this December for our Christmas show! It's called "Deconstructing Santa: A Contrived Christmas Comedy." And it features just four actors and some truly funny original sketch comedy.
Friday, Dec. 19th at the CCBC Allied Health Auditorium
Saturday, Dec. 20th at the Studio Theater at Geneva College
Shows start at 8PM and tickets are $5.00
Okay, enough of this... here is my website: http://www.TheCellarDwellers.com
Make sure you put "the" before Cellar Dwellers.com because if you don't you will end up at some sort of English Biker website. Everyone makes that mistake, and then they think I am some sort of leather-lovin' Brit. While I may come across as that sometimes, I assure you I am not.
Anyone feel like commenting?
