Zell Miller, Melissa Hart, and Scott O'Grady Walk Into a Bar

Last Saturday, Oct 9th, there was a 1000+ person Bush Rally at the Beaver Falls Middle School in Beaver County PA. It was one of the largest GOP gatherings in the county, which is pretty notorious for being a blue-collar part of the state. In honor of our president, some big name speakers attended this event to pass their words on to the masses. I just happened to be one of those speakers. But more importantly, Democrat and Georgian Senator (who is now famous for his fire and brimstone speech at the RNC in August) Zell Miller came to the event.

I got a chance to shake hands with the man, who shows that it's possible to be a conservative AND a democrat at the same time!

Read on, my friends...

John K:"Why is the Democratic party like a bakery?"
John E: "Because they are both filled with cream puffs!"

I played John Edwards along side my friend Michael Hinzman, who portrayed John Kerry, in a hilarious vaudeville routine that we wrote and rehearsed for the past month.

John E: I'm so glad Pizza Hut has that new Four-For-All. I was tired of being on the phone for over 20 minutes while you picked a topping.
John K: I voted for the sausage and pineapple before I voted against it!

We didn't expect the crowd to react the way they did... which was with raucous applause and laughter. The skit ended up going over by a few minutes because we had to pause for applause. (That sounds like a charity... "Pause for Applause")

John K: Remember, John, if we lose it's Hillary next time.
John E: I think she's more man than me!

It was one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life. Never have I performed in front of that many people before, and with such an amazing response... and for such a worthy cause.

Zell: Kerry says 'Saddam didn't attack us' Oh yeah, well neither did Hitler!

Zell Miller gave an unbelievable speech, filled with jokes and harsh truths about the Kerry camp and their plans for this country. It was interesting to see a democrat's take on things, and his message, which was promoting non-partisan voting. Vote on the issues not the party.

Afterwards, me and Mike got to speak with Melissa Hart for quite a while. Surprisingly, somehow, she knew me by name! I was honored to hear what she thought of my performance and all that I have been working for. She's a wonderful woman and one of the few 100% honest politicians working today.

It was a fantastic event and a rousing success. We managed to make it on KDKA, WTAE and FOX 53 evening newscasts. My mom was even seen on the Fox footage! I hope that Mike and I will be able to do our routine again... I told Elizabeth Yorio (head of the Victory Center in Greensburg) that we would be happy to do it at the President's Inaugural Ball.

John E: Hope is on the way... out!

Congratulations Mike. Way to stand up for everything you believe in, and actually make a difference while doing it.
