Thank you, IT

Okay, my internet is working now (knock on wood) and all thanks to Brian in the IT department. Thank you, sir... turns out a switch shut off my port for some reason, and it took us a little bit of settings adjustments over the phone before we got things up and running. He did pass on to me this bit of obvious information...

People on campus complain about how slow the internet is-- me being one of them-- and one of the main reasons (although I know there are others) is that Windows user students don't update and protect their computers. This network is extremely dangerous to have a PC on because it's a "cesspool of viruses," as Brian put it. If you have a Windows machine, update it, get service pack 2, and get a virus and firewall program. Maybe then things wouldn't be so bad.
