McSAME Birthday Wishes
Someone sent me a birthday card with John McCain on it. McCain, as usual, is sticking with his same old rhetoric. He says "No one has more experience than me," and when you open it, he concludes "...at having birthdays!" Clever, yes, but that is so like John McCain to play the Experience Card.
John McCain's birthday card is filled with the same old, tired talk as George W. Bush's birthday cards. I've already had eight years of George Bush wishing me a happy birthday, I certainly don't need John McSame carrying on that torch. His policies of big wishes, patriotic text, and "my birthday not yours" exclusionism is not what this country needs right now.
What we need is a new breed of birthday card. A fresh face with new birthday ideas. Cards that say "I'm better than you, but I'm taking time out of my day to wish you a happy birthday." Cards that inspire. Cards that bring the same kind of hope a child gets when he makes that silent wish before blowing out the birthday candles. Cards that are well-designed and covered in positive messages... but are completely empty on the inside.
