God Save the Queen, Moira's Back

July 13, 2005

Jolly good, mates, I'm back in the U.K. I'm looking forward to catching up on reading everybody's blog entries for the last couple of weeks. Now that the internet is free and easily available, I should have all the time in the world to blog. Yay!

I'm staying with my uncle Malcolm, aunt Sue, and cousin Georgina at the moment in a town called Stourbridge in the West Midlands. I went to see my Nan last night, whom I haven't seen since I was about 16 years old. I was very sad to say goodbye to my aunt Jean and her family (my dad's sister) but am looking forward to meeting my mom's half of the family, most of whom I haven't met before. Wicked.

It's sweltering hot today. Who knew England could get so darn hot? There isn't much sunshine but there's plenty of heat to make up for it. In the next couple weeks I'll be visiting Southport, a seaside resort, Cadbury's World, land of the delicious chocolate treats, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, and, if I'm lucky, Edinburgh, Scotland.

My time in Europe was phenomenal. I'll be writing more about that but right now I am sweating buckets and in need of a cool drink. So I'll do a brief breakdown:

I visited:
York, Canterbury, Dover, Thetford, London, & Stourbridge in England
Empuribrava, Spain
Paris, France
Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Dresden, and Cologne, Germany
Bruges, Belgium
Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Zandvoort, Zandaam, & Eindhoven, Netherlands

Of the bunch, my favorite was Munich, hands down.

More to come...

Hey Moira, you're quite the world traveler now, aren't you? :-) And if you got sugarpackets from -half- those places, I'd be thrilled... I'm giddy just thinking about it! I hope the rest of your trip goes well--and safely :-)

Karissa - I -am- quite the world traveler! I'm already working on my next itinerary! :c) I have sugarpackets for you from a bunch of places - definitely a few from Germany, one from A'dam, some from England, one from Spain, and I'm not sure about France - I've got at least 5 - 7, possibly a few more than that. I've been meaning to ask: What do you do with your sugar packets??

Lou - yup, so far I am still alive and kickin'! How's your summer going? I'm still in the process of catching up on blogs - thanks for the links! p.s. how's the writing?? any new projects / challenges going on?

Summer's been alright w/ a few set backs.
Writing's been going alright--I've head ten million ideas that I couldn't even put to paper--BUT i did have a publisher have interest in one of my books. So we'll see how that goes.

Sweet! How did you get publisher interest? I write all the time but can't quite figure out how to get published! The way I figure it... I'll just start my own publishing company. :c) Do we have any classes together next semester? SHakespeare?

No, I think we have Newswriting together, and maybe one more. I dont know.

I just sent 3 chapters and a sypnosis to Harlequin in Canada, and they liked it. Now I just have to finish it.
