Calling All Writers

November 20, 2006

I'll be posting this flyer on campus next week, but here's a heads up:

Calling All Writers / Artists

Local magazine now seeking submissions with a local flavor:

Non-fiction pieces up to 1,000 words on topics such as:

Bicycling, Dumpster Diving, Recycling, Local Politics, Current Events, Arts & Entertainment, Healthy Lifestyles, & so much more!

Interviews with Greensburg natives and local celebrities.

Some flash fiction and poetry; ideally, Greensburg will figure prominently in the work.

Black & white photography, drawings, and comic strips.

Send queries / completed articles / art submissions to:

greensburg.magazine@gmail.com

The deadline for the first issue is DECEMBER 12th.

You will not be paid for your contribution, but you will receive 2 contributor copies, with the opportunity to buy more issues at cost. This magazine will be distributed for free throughout Greensburg, and, we hope, fill the gap left by other local publications.

Moira, aside from the GBG mag, I had been meaning to talk to you about working on a project. I have been working on a play/short story idea [not sure the best vehicle of delivery yet] tentatively entitled "The Lone Smoker's Mumblings" which is a satirical approach to the idea of gossip and drama that ensues while people meet in a smoker's lounge at an office. The premise is that the reader/audience does not know what is true. The smokers gossip, and then a scene is inserted starring the person they are talking about. It needs a lot of organization, but it sounded promising in my head. I was hoping to have one of them found dead in the lounge. Get back to me on this.

Sounds like a great premise for an IF game, Leslie... but that's just me. ;)
