Wildcard: Games Night at SHU

On November 4, it was our Math Club games night. We had different games available for the students, for example; roulette wheel, poker, blackjack, pool, etc. I have never played these wonderful casino games before, so it was amusing to me. I enjoyed playing poker, however my only problem is that I always forget "what beats what." We played from 8:00p.m. until near 11:00p.m. It was so much fun! I wanted to play some more, but I had to go home since it was getting late. The funniest moment that I saw was when Professor Sasmor and Professor Atkinson tried to play pool on a mini version of a pool table. Well, we had to play the mini one, since the pool equipment was not available.

My favorite game would have to be blackjack. It's easy and it's fun. The next day, I taught my little sisters how to play the game, and they thought it was exciting. They always seem interested whenever I share my college experiences with them. Now, I get to play blackjack on my cellphone, whenever I get bored.

You could say I am a game person. I have enjoyed playing games, since I was little. I like board, card, video and mind games. I am also interested in learning new activities, because it's very handy when you are traveling or when giving parties.

What kind of games does everyone else like to play now or as a little kid?

In response to your question, I really don't have a favorite movie. I am not patient enough to watch them. What is yours?

That is so cool that you are into playing cards. I enjoy boardgames, like Monopoly. About video games, I know people who rave about some like Grand Theft Auto, San Adreas, but....I think Pac Man is more my speed. Haha, I have no hand/eye coordination whatsoever. That is really cool that you are into those activities :)

Hmm...there are so many. But I'm into cartoon and animated films. So, I would say Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., Ice Age, etc. Some action movies would be Spy Kids, Spiderman, etc.

I love PacMan. Video games were my favorite as a kid. I was seriously hooked on them. My little sister and I would play them for hours. Oh, I bet you would be great at playing video games. It's all in fun.

Nabila and Katie...

I'm straight up 80's arcade games. Pac-man, of course, back in the day I had all the patterns down, up to to the keys. However, my eternal favorite would still be Galaga, and I will challenge anybody.. I can easily make a quarter last 40 minutes. When I was a lil' kid in the 80s, all of my allowance went to videogames. I grew up in Murrysville back then, and we had a lot of great arcades/gamerooms. At home, it was Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. Later on, in the mid-late 90's, I was great at Mortal Kombat and Tekken. I had a friend that ran the old "Spaceport" gameroom in Westmoreland Mall, when it existed (now it's Kaufmann's furniture). On any given night, winter of 1996, LOL, you could find us there, long after the mall closed, playing Mortal Kombat for some serious $$. I'm talking about midnight-4am tournaments, getting snowed in at the mall!!! Ever spend 24 hours in Westmoreland Mall? ;-) Let's just say it's interesting.

I've even contemplated over the years getting the MK logo as a tattoo... LOL. I'm still hooked, but now on PS2.

Games RULE!!!

Right now, I have a PS2; however I really don't get the chance to play as much as I did when I was younger. My sisters play on it sometimes, but not as much as I did. I just love 2D games, like Mario Bros, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, etc. When I used to have Nintendo64, we played Mario Party for hours!! It was addictive, but so much fun. The only games that I find interesting in the mall or any other game place, would be like skee ball or basketball shoot. I really don't like to play arcade games in public, because I tend to lose my concentration.
