Ode to Blogging

Blogging is enjoyable for everyone. You are given the chance to post your own ideas and thoughts, and then receive feedback from people all over the world.

It also allows you to create your own environment/blog. Ed Lohr has made his blog his own with black background and green lettering. He changed his font and made it all his own. My Cat House is my own, but not personalized like Ed's. Julie Young also has her own personalized blog. She even has a little section that's about herself. She lets you get to know her. You are giving a chance to let the world get to know you.

I feel that with blogging, we are given a chance to be Culture Workers. We may not change society, but someone may take our ideas and help them progress or use them to help support their own. Our ideas could change society, especiallt if someone feels the same and helps the progress along.

This is also a chance for you to voice your thoughts, ideas, and opinions. People from all over the world can read your blog and give you feedback, whether positive or negative. They can help you shape your ideas and help them grow. You amy also find someone that feels the same way you do. You are able to have a conversation with someone that is possibly 1000s of miles away. Blogging is an easy form of communication.

Just remember that anyone can view your blog. You shouldn't publish anything that is private and that you don't want anyone to see. You can block comments, but it seems pointless then. Blogs are more than an online journal. They are a way to communicate, and receive feedback.

I've even written a poem about blogging:

Ode to Blogging

Why do I compute thee? Let me count the ways.

The Jerzinator demands it.
To get feedback on my ideas.
To have conversations with others miles away.
To explore worlds that would otherwise be unknown to me.
To express myself in ways to get instant feedback.
Just to be myself.
To build upon my ideas.
To enhance my technological skills.
To bouce ideas back and forth between my peers.

There is an unlimited number of reasons I compute thee. But the main being that thou is part of me.
