All You Need to Know :: F.A.Q.s about SHU Recycling

What can be recycled?

  • Paper: all grades and types, including printer paper, mail, newspaper
  • Notebooks with spiral binding
  • Cardboard: "thin" cardboard only, please no corrogated cardboard
  • Paperback books

Where can I deposit paper?

You have two choices:

The green recycling bins located throughout campus. There are bins placed under the printers in most computer labs around campus and in many classrooms.

or

The paper recycling dumpster is located directly behind the boiler house near the small road running behind Admin and St. Joes Hall. This dumpster is bright green and has a PA cleanways symbol on it with the words "Newspaper Recycling Only."

Do you accept recycling donations from members of the community?

Yes! Please deposit your paper directly into the PA cleanways dumpster behind Admin and St. Joes.

Why should I recycle?

Recycling paper could eliminate almost half of what Americans throw away each year. Recycling saves trees and energy; this decreases pollution and habitat destruction around the world.

How can I get involved?
