Go, go, MLA!
MLA has updated their widely-used guidelines for how to format the entries of a Works Cited list. Our friend, the OWL at Purdue, provides a quick look at the changes. Honest, guys, these tweaks are going to make your lives easier!

More thoughts on e-books, and Kindles, in particular
Amazon recently deleted George Orwell's 1984 from the Kindles of customers who had "bought" and paid for the book. Yes, they can do that, apparently.
I can't take credit for these thoughts, but they more or less coincide with my own. Check out what The Swiss Army Librarian has to say about the whole debacle.

Physicist Entertain Thyself
One of the nice things about helping someone with research is that you often find, tangentially, items that are very interesting. In so doing I recently came across the name Richard Feynman (1918-1988). He was Nobel Prize winning theoretical physicist whose videos I stumbled upon on youtube.com. I bet it would have been fun to be in any of his classes—he can make just about anything interesting. Here is just a sampling of the videos that are posted.
