Poetry Selections -- Jerz: Intro to Literary Study (EL150)

The drive symbolizes leaving life. Going from childhood, to maturity, then to the setting of the sun(dying).
I would like to discuss the quote, "We passed the setting sun" this quote lets me picture the sun rising and falling which seems to impersonate ones feelings and emotions. To me it seems that when the sun goes down and is done shining, it symbolizes a person's life. Just as life wears down and out of time. Live your life to the fullest and never take a day for granted because you never know when death will come,or what tomorrow holds.

"Ah as the heart grows older It will come to such sights colder By and by nor spare a sigh Though worlds of manwood leafmeal lie;" This quote tells me that as you begin your journey through life things seem pretty simple, as you age and experience the real meanings of life, it becomes more intricate and confusing.
