A Jury Of Her Peers

I would have to say that i really enjoyed this story. It went against the belief that in those days that women were just the home makers. In the mind of the husbands, the women were to just collect up some belongings for Mrs. Wright. The Men were there to collect evidence and to find a motive. In reality, the men served only one purpose in this story. That purpose is that they brought the ladies to the scene to solve it without them knowing. The two ladies really put the meaning into the title.

The Adding Machine

I did not enjoy this play at all. In my mind, it was just too sad and depressing. I think it focused too much on the bad qualities of the characters. There was suicide, murder, and adultry along with added arguments and verbal jabs. After reading this, hardly any good personal trait pops into my mind from this story other than they were somewhat personable when it came to getting together with other families to talk.

Bernice Bobs her Hair

The one thing i liked about this story is that by changing a few of the minor details, it could be be adapted for todays audience. It is easy to take some good and some bad from this story. For example, It takes a very strong person to going to someone and admit they might not be the most outgoing and ask for help. That is a good thing to teach anybody. You are never to cool to ask for help. But on the other had, there is the part that wouldn't be so good to show younger audiences. That part would be the end when the story is saying go ahead and take your revenge by cutting off someones hair. I think with a little updating, the story would make a great new movie for a new modern audience.
