possible NMJ site addition
As I was just saying in a comment to Leslie's entry, I think the New Media Journalism site needs more information for new journalism majors.
With that said, I think I've come up with part of a solution. I think we should link to a page or a series of pages with articles that have errors, which we write ourselves or which we find from another source, then have the corrected version of the article online with the corrections made explained.
Bad idea, good idea?
Insights?

Too true! I mean, just use some of my articles if you want examples of bad journalism. :-)
I like the idea of having "before" and "after" examples, with explanations. Remember that editing for content and editing for proofreading are different things. It might not be hard to create a story that has some common but obviously wrong errors of style and punctuation.
It's a great idea. But different copy editors make different corrections. We might have to get some sort of panel of copy editors together to make sure each of the example stories are corrected to perfection...or at least really good.
