This one really upset me. It shows that there is no respect for human life. People think that thier needs must be met,and thier feeling not hurt. they feel that they have the right to take waht they want even if it is anoter human being, or thier life. I think this one was deep, and very dark/
This story reminds me of a time when you got married before you were intamite. I realize that many of us now would not understand the underlying friction between these two people. This woman wa so unsusre about what would come next with hernew husband she picked a fight. I see myself picking fights when I am uspest about sometnig I think I can't control. This was not rally a story about their first night together rather a fight about who was going to control their life once they were settled into married life. That hasn't changed much today.
This story really made me think. I use a lot a sarchasim when I am frustrated or tired of how things are going. I didn't really see how it looked until I saw ths character in the story who was able to tick off every body she met with her sarchasim. I really liked this one. It makes you look at how we respond to people and how we put our own feelings out there and build a wall without knowing we are doing it. The man in the naked lady suit who triedd so hard to talk to Zoe yet she wouldn't hear of it like if she let her guard down the world might get in. Zoe really needed to do some soul searching to figure out why peple didn't like her instead of blaming everyone for her problems.
"Whoever you are-I have always depended on the kindness of strangers"
This quote just brings out the true meaning of blanche to me. This woman came into her sisters home and basically set it on its ear, even though she knew nothing of her husband she was willing to have him support her without blinking an eye at how he may feel. She reminds me of a true southern bell, like Scarlet in gone with the wind. As long as the world is taking care of blanche she has no cares of how they survive. I also lookat how she took to Mitch so easy. She did not know him from Adam yet she was willing to move in on him like a vulture on some road kill because she knew he could provide her with a good and stable home and life. Blanche to me is that little old lady in the bar when you are first old enough to drink that has the lipstick on her teeth hitting on all men to buy her drinks, and take her home and care for her becasue she cannot do it for herself. She is a pittiful thing that needs some help.

The blogs I cholse all show how I have found a new way to lookat pieces of literature and not just read them for the story they have to tell but the one that lies under the surface.
THE GREAT GATSBY
I chose the entry Daisy who is She? In this entry I fould that the character Daisy was not who she pretended to be in the begining. Yes she was a refined lady of society but she was also self centered and only cared about protecting her place in society at the cost of anyone who got in her way.
A JURY OF HER PEERS
I found it very interesting at how it so differed from The Adding Machine where they wre willing to look for a reason that Zero Killed his boss, yet t hey only wnated to know why the wife did it in a Jury of her peers. I felt that it showed a definate double standard in this story.
BERNICE BOBS HER HAIR
Bernice what a character! That is how I saw this story. I found the way that Fitsgerald portrayed the women of the upper class during the 1920's was very interesting. It made me wonder if women still work so hard to get noticed by men or do we just move so fast that all the fun of the game are lost forever.
TECHNOLOGY IN THE EARLY 1900'S
People were very afraid of the ever changing world of the industrial revolution. I found it very interesting that they were so fearful of technology yet when we finally accepted it we went full force into it to the point that we will never be able to live without it.
THE WORLD TRADE CENTER
Iwould have to say that this is the poem that caught me off guard the most. How ironic it was that this man spoke of the hatered that the people of New York had for this set of buildings that overpowered the beautiful buildings of the past until it was brutlaly harmed by terroist. I must ask How do you think He feels now?
