Foster gives a well deserved envoi to us, the readers, rather than his book, "How to Read LIterature LIke a Professor." He appreciates us as his readers just as much as we appreciate him for his book and all of his insight, including his apology. "If I have given the impression somehow-by reaching an end point, for instance-that I have exhausted the codes by which literature is written and understood, I must apologize. It simply isn't true." When it comes down to it, reading what one enjoys is what it's all about. Foster gives us better ways of understanding literature.
