Did You Ever...

Yes kids, its time for another "Did You Ever..." moment.

This week:

Did you ever wonder about the people at the MLA? Honestly, who sits around and decides that the period should go inside the quotations and not outside? Or make up all the crazy parenthetical documentation rules. Have they nothing better to do? No, apparently not.

*grumbles something about internal citations*

I know exactly how you feel..I mean did they have a debate about documentation rules? If two of them disagreed would they play rock, paper, scissors? Fight to the death? Exile the person to a remote island? I hope that if I ever get to the point where I create something as boring (yet genius) like the MLA format that someone either slaps me or gives me a prize. :)

Yes, Rachel, I'm pretty sure they did fight to the death. We don't hear about it in the news because they can cover it up but they do it, oh yes, they do. Haha.

My new goal, work for the MLA. I will inflitrate the system and bring it to its knees!

I like the idea of the folks at the MLA whatever wherever fighting to the death over where to place a comma. It's kind of a beautiful poetic justice, is it not? (moira, 2003)"."(doh!)." oh wait, sorry... *head spins*

You mean there needs to be a comma there?! I'm living a lie!!!

Whoah, waitaminute, now I'm confused. I thought there were no commas in the (moira 2003) kind of citation.

What are we supposed to believe? (:-\)
