Did you ever wonder why, when a friend is picking you up, she moves all the stuff off of the passenger seat and looks at you like she is really surprised you are sitting there? Um, obviously I am sitting there- you knew this! (I do it too though...)

Whenever I pick someone up I move the stuff before I leave. That way my passenger can just hop in. If you can't do that you're a failure at life. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to consider your friends. I feel like slapping whoever I'm riding with whenever they're not prepared to pick me up. They are wastes brain cells.
