In class to day Dr. Jerz handed out a sheet of paper and then split the class into groups. each group got a paper with pics. on it and the group had to write intructions for the task.
My group had paper airplanes. I thought I wrote good details so that someoneo not looking at the pics. could make the same plane I was. Well then I put that to the test. We went out into other groups and tested the guid that we had written.
Mine did not go well, but it showed me that people dont always pay attention to every word and that peolpe dont give the same meanings to words. What I wrote I thought made sense and I could make the airplane. Then when someone else looked at it they didnt know what exactly I was trying to get them to do. I guess that was the point of the class today.
Posted by VictoriaMara at November 15, 2004 11:39 AMI did miss this class due to a personal issue but after hearing what we did I wish I would have been there. It sounds quite interesting. I obviously did not get to see the guide that your group made but completely agree that often times people do not always pay attention to detail. As you said, people also have their own individual meanings to particular words. I am comfortable in saying this because I have fallen victim to this myself here and there.
Posted by: michael iorio at November 29, 2004 9:35 PMYes the class was some what stressful mostly because you had to sit there and listen to people make mistakes and not say anything. My biggest problem was when something was read wrong and I would want to tell them no like this. But I did learn a lot about what I needed to improve on.
Posted by: Vicki Mara at November 30, 2004 12:01 AMVicki I felt like such a dork when I couldn't do it. I think we were all a little stressed with this project, just because it was sprung upon us and it was just completley ridiculous. But you have to admit it was fun. A liitle weird but fun.
Posted by: Melissa at December 2, 2004 10:01 AMIn Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, you're probably wondering why you can't control the paper airplane well, you gotta tilt the Left analog stick left down diagonally. To go down just let yourself drop by not doing anything.
