American Lit: What's your thought?

Reading Hayle’s My Mother Was a Computer I was lost and what she was trying to explain in terms of coding. The language was complex and technical and I could not put image to all of what she was saying. After watching the game of life I feel i have a better chance of grasping the information about coding presented. Do I understand coding now? No, but with an image in mind of what it can do it gives me an idea of what i should possibly be looking for. Even the instructions for the Life game, even though simple, only truly became understandable after the game was demonstrated. Having a visual idea of something can truly help in understanding coding.
