In Wilson, Fences I noticed this passage:
Troy: Liked you ? Who the hell say I got to like you?
I feel like Troy was just protecting his son. He lived through a lot of discrimination and that may have influenced his choices in what he said and did concerning Cory playing football. I think however he could have been kinder to Corey, he was really hard on him. It may not be so clear to Corey that Troy really does love him.

Corey seems a lot like Biff. They both have the football thing going and a father who wants more then the ordinary for them. I agree though that Troy is too hard on Corey, not understanding at all.

I agree. Troy was trying to protect his son, but I think he was being a little too protective. Troy knew, from his past, about discrimination and abuse from his father and he learned first hand what other people could do of they didn’t “like” you. Troy dosent necessarily “like” Cory, but wants to protect him from other people so he doesnt suffer like he did.
