Sample, What Comes Before the Platform: The Refuse of Videogames

I think this article was interesting. Just like two nights ago I was watching Chelsea Handler and she had a guest on I forget which actress, maybe Robin Wright. The actress was talking about the organization she was involved in and the fact that she was trying to get apple on board. The organization made phones etc, without that product that he was talking about in the article Coltan. I never knew that or heard about it before. I think it is amazing how much we all take for granted. I have a straight talk phone and was considering getting an android, or changing service back to verizon for an Iphone, now I feel kind of bad. It was interesting how the writer used Mcgonigal in his article. I think in part of it he was using the mirror, window and lens idea. The part where he started asking questions like ,”What have we cast out and forgotten in today’s world of games”? The idea that these studies have a holistic view is really an angle I never would have thought much of. I wander what else we all take for granted at someone’s else’s expense?
