Don’t hate the player… hate the game.

In Collins, The Hunger Games (10-17) I noticed this passage:

“‘I don’t know how to say it exactly. Only… I want to die as myself. Does that make any sense?’ he asks. I shake my head. How could he die as anyone but himself? ‘I don’t want them to change me in there. Turn me into some kind of monster that I’m not.’”

In my last blog about The Hunger Games, I talked about the idea of appearances and how they (the games) will ultimately change the tributes.  I feel as though this passage represents some foreshadowing.  I think that the games will change the tributes, but I’m sure there will be some sort of twist that I am anxious to find out.
