Our keynote speaker is Carol Rittner, RSM, Distinguished Professor of Holocaust & Genocide Studies at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She is the associate editor of the bi-monthly publication The Genocide Forum (USA) and editor of the quarterly Perspectives on Genocide (UK). Professor Rittner has published a number of books, including The Courage to Care: Non-Jews Who Rescued Jews during the Holocaust (1986), Different Voices: Women and the Holocaust (1993), The Holocaust and the Christian World (2000), Pius XII and the Holocaust (2002) and Will Genocide Ever End? (2002). Rittner’s film, The Courage to Care, was nominated for a 1986 Academy Award in the Short Documentary Category. Among our featured speakers are John T. Pawlikowski, OSM, professor of social ethics at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago; Daniel C. Napolitano, director of education at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum; and Shulamit Imber, pedagogical director of The International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem in Israel. A special session sponsored by the Council of Centers for Christian-Jewish Relations (CCJR) is titled "Holocaust Education outside North America." The conference will provide an opportunity for Holocaust educators to share wisdom, insights and methods accrued during teaching. We hope you will plan to attend the conference! February 14, 2006
