Genocide in Darfur: Sudan's Defiance of International Human RightsThe NCCHE and Humanities division in conjunction with JoAnne Boyle?s Forum on World Affairs, is proud to present "Genocide in Darfur: Sudan?s Defiance of International Human Rights," a lecture by visiting scholar and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Sharon E. Hutchinson, Ph. D. Sharon E. Hutchinson is the author of the book Nuer Dilemmas: Coping with Money, War and the State and more than twenty scholarly research papers. For the past twenty years, she had done extensive field work in the Sudan, and in 2002, she served as a monitor for the Civilian Protection Monitoring Team. Hutchinson, a professor of Anthropology and African studies at the University of Wisconsin, is asked to present at many international and national venues. She specializes in social history and cultural change, as well as international humanitarian interventions and human rights. The lecture, which takes place at 7p.m. on Monday March 26, 2007 in the Lynch Lecture Hall, will conclude with a question and answer section. This forum is free and open to the public.
