Mark your calendars!

This fall Seton Hill's National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education (NCCHE) will be hosting and supporting many exciting events that are open to the public. We encourage you to look through the list below to find the event or event(s) that interest you and join us during these times.

·         The NCCHE will sponsor a student tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on Saturday, September 20. This tour is part of Seton Hill's annual Washington, DC trip. If you are interesting in joining the group, sign-up in the Activities Office when you make your bus reservation.

·          The NCCHE along with Seton Hill's Campus Ministry is supporting the annual Unity Rally, which will be held on Tuesday, October 21. The rally's theme this year is "Become a PEACE of the Puzzle" and will take place in St. Clair Park, located in Greensburg. The event will begin at 7pm and is sponsored by Central Westmoreland Unity Coalition. 

·          As part of the Catholic Church’s celebration of the anniversary of St. Paul, the NCCHE is sponsoring a guest lecture by Rev. John T. Pawlikowski, OSM, PhD., and professor of social ethics and director of the Catholic-Jewish Studies program at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, IL. His lecture is titled “Which Paul Are We Celebrating during the Jubilee?” The program will take place on Wednesday, October 22 from 7-8 p.m. in the Greensburg Room on the Seton Hill University campus.  

·         Seton Hill University, through its NCCHE, will honor Dr. Eugene J. Fisher, retired associate director of the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), with the university’s Nostra Aetate Award during a special award presentation and reception on Thursday, October 23, beginning at 6 p.m. in St. Joseph Chapel on campus. The award presentation is open to the public. For information about the reception which will follow the award presentation, phone 724-830-1033.

·         Seton Hill University’s annual Kristallnacht Remembrance Service will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at 6 p.m. in St. Joseph Chapel on campus. The featured speaker is Fritz Ottenheimer, author of Escape and Return, who as a young child experienced Kristallnacht in his birthplace of Constance, Germany. Holocaust survivors Robert Mendler, Shulamit Bastacky and Sam and Goldie Weinreb will also participate in this interfaith service.
