I'm so glad there's finally a reason for me to bring this up! Surprisingly, this has a lot to do with what's being addressed in "It Ain't Necessarily So".

I totally agree with everyone on this. I heard from a friend about these jokes and we are signing a pitition on shuting down all of the disgusting sites on bonsiakittens. Hopefully this will all be over b4 someone really does try to do something like this!

I like you Jess thought for a long time that it was true as well, until one day when I was searching for a site that had nothing to do with Bonsai and found an article on the very subject. I can't remember what I was doing, but I felt really stupid afterwards and well let's just say that I was seriously disgusted by the fact that someone would even think about doing something like that to an animal. I mean come on. It's bad enough that we put animals into cages when they should be free, but to even joke about putting baby kittens or any household pet into a jar. That is just disgusting.

*phew* I'm glad to hear that you're bothered by it, too. I wasn't entirely sure in the beginning. I seriously thought it was credible, until I got to the pictures and saw the baby. I knew, then, that it was a joke (and a sick joke at that).

Bonsai kittens... that's so ridiculous.

Sorry Karissa, my point in posting this is that it IS sick and a whole bunch of people, myself included, did get really mad about it. I didn't figure out that it wasn't true for a long time, and I'd told all kinds of people about it, we got all fired up, and it doesn't really exist.

ok... I never knew about it until just now. Thanks for the enlightenment, I suppose :)

The Bonsia kitten website is a long-standing Internet in-joke.

um... Can I just say that this is sick? (I know that it's not true, but this kind of thing, even in joking, makes me angry and sick.)

No reflection on you, Jess... I just... eww. That's terrible that someone could even think of that.
