Blogs Working Again!

| | Comments (9) | TrackBacks (0)

Missing blog entries from before 22 Nov? Don't panic... we had to restore the whole site from a backup, but the more recent entries are easily recoverable.

Thanks to heroic efforts by my ISP, Dave Cornelson, it looks like at the moment we have a working version of blogs.setonhill.edu. If you're a SHU blogger, you may have noticed that the past few blog entries have disappeared... don't worry.

Dave copied the whole blogs.setonhill.edu website, busted as it was, to a new site, so the entries and comments that have been added over the past few days still exist -- they're just in the wrong place at the moment. Dave and I are working on how to bring them over automatically; failing that, you can always cut and paste.

The backup of the old site doesn't work, but if you'd like the psychological satisfaction of knowing that your missing entries still exist, But before you click away from this site, I'll just warn you that the links on the backup will all take you back to this site. So, if you want to see a particular file the way it used to be before this morning's restoration, you should replace the "blogs.setonhill.edu" in the URL with "www.plover.net/~shblogold".

There's a November 31st??!

Someone left me, and the company that made my VanGogh calendar out of that loop... Man, there was another day and I didn't even realize it. Is November 31st like February 29th?

Just kidding!!! :)

Dr Jerz, when do you think the NMJ site will be up and running again. I have a post for the site and when I tried to post it this morning I couldn't.

I can't describe the feeling of sadness that I felt about losing access to my blog. And then the entries started disappearing...

I was in a deep funk for about half a day. Thank you so much for bringing back my writing baby.

I can't thank Dr. Jerz enough for getting the blogs up again!

Everyone go check out my blogs--pictures are up, but not imbedded, they're downloadable :) It's the best I could do. (And I'll get over the fact that the colors are changed... :-/ I'll change 'em again when I return!)

Right... as I wrote, "The backup of the old site doesn't work..." but you can nevertheless see that any entries missing from the working site are still in the database on the old site. One thing at a time, Jen! :)
