If anyone wants to see a funny sketch comedy show over Christmas break, you should check out the Cellar Dwellers out of Beaver County! Why? Because I, Mike Rubino, am one of the leaders of this raucous improv comedy troupe...
I won't give you the history of my comedy troupe (because it seems I do that every time I tell people about it), and its not really all MINE, but I've been in the group almost the longest... All that aside, the Cellar Dwellers are an improv comedy group out of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. We have been doing theater improv and variety shows for over seven years (I've been with them for six years).
This Christmas we are performing an all original montage of sketches in a show we are calling "Deconstructing Santa" (A Contrived Christmas Comedy). Its a sort-of-play that involves the story of four distinct characters in different, unrelated scenes and how they all tie together at the end for one continuous plot. The show is written by myself, along with three other guys, and the four of us are the only actors in the show, playing all of the parts ourselves. (There are normally more cast members, but this time we chose to go with just four... for some flava') The show is a dark holiday comedy about the spirit of Christmas. It's filled with smart, satirical humor and is going to be the funniest production of the holiday season! I promise!
There will be two performances of Deconstructing Santa:
Friday, December 19th at the CCBC Allied Health Auditorium in Center Twp, PA
Saturday, December 20th at the Studio Theater at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA
Both shows beging at 8:00PM and tickets are ONLY $5.00!
