A Lurking Voice
I am not in any of your classes, but I wanted to thank all of you who put energy into your blogs this term. I've enjoyed reading your posts and will miss them if you don't keep blogging. So KEEP BLOGGING! I, along with dozens of lurking friends, parents, faculty, prospective students, journalists, academics and various anonymous weirdos, are all out here reading you and hoping you'll continue. We learn a lot about your needs and daily lives; we learn a lot about 'breaking' local news or the impact of national news on your local lives; we learn from you. We don't always leave comments, and we don't always read you the same day you post, but we find you and we read you and we want to keep reading you. Surely this wasn't just another class homework assignment for you, was it? Surely this meant more to you than just doing time? Surely you won't abandon us, your loyal readers, will you?
Don't tell me to get a life. I've got one. Reading you makes it richer.
Keep writing!
-- Dr. Mike Arnzen, lurking English Faculty at SHU

Hmmm. Mike is forcing me to Blog. This is my first time with really blogging. I tried livejournal once, but as you can see from:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/cthulhu/
I don't use it all that much. Part of me likes blogging, it forces me to stay on task with my reading/writing. It also saps time from writing. Now I wander around here looking at posts by/from people I have never met.
YaY for blogs! I've had fun writing on mine, and I know that some of my friends and family have had fun reading mine... pageant updates, random article links, cappuccino chronicles... what can I say? I love it. It's also rather addictive :)
I too enjoyed reading the NMJ weblogs this semester and posted a few comments here and there. Best wishes to all for a good Christmas break and I hope you keep blogging!

*raises hand* are you calling me a weirdo Dr. A?
Just making sure, because I don't want to be classified as one of those journalist types ... haha.
Check back over break ... updates on the Setonian web site will be posted.
I plan to keep on blogging as a source of frustration relief. I found this semester that if I ever needed a break from reality and was feel particularly blahlike I went and blogged about it and felt better. My blogs may not have been too interesting and I don't really get into reading other people's as much as I should, but I'll keep on blogging to feel better.

Take my "Writing for the Internet" course next fall, Mike... I think you'll like it.
Wait, you mean people HAD to post on blogs for a class? Wow! Talk about an easy A
Let me second Dr. Arnzen's comment. I'm still reading and enjoying the blogs of students whose portofolios I've already graded. In fact, I spent too much time reading blogs today, so that I didn't make nearly as much progress in my grading.
Thanks to all of you for the effort you put into your blogs. You have all contributed to something that I think will have a lasting effect on the public perception of SHU, on your own personal academic development, and on the friendships (and rivalries) that develop in these pages.
