The College Republicans are now established here at Seton Hill, and we got a huge turnout for members at the Club Fair! Thanks to anyone who signed up there. We have over forty members! The first meeting is Thursday, Sept 23rd at 7:30PM in Admin 405. Anyone is welcomed to attend (well, aside from unruly protesters) and the meeting shouldn't be longer than an hour.
I would invite anyone that has conservative ideals or that supports our President to attend.
Dan Rather recently got into trouble for speaking at a Democractic fund-raiser. He said that he accepted the invitation to speak without asking whether the event was political. Oops!

By speaking at a Democratic party event, at the very least he gave the appearance of a conflict of interest.
Rather's career is already secure, but his speech gives ammunition to those who want to paint him as a liberal whose bias interferes with the quality of his reporting.
All the same, I'd like to think that no editor would be so shallow as to deny a job to somebody -- anybody -- simply because they joined a college club.
Just as a hypothetical question--
As a journalist, could one be rejected for a job because of an affiliation with a club like this?
