Configuring Your Blog to Alert You of New Comments
You can set up your SHU blog to e-mail you when someone posts a new comment.
The message will include a link that you can click in order to approve or delete the comment.
(I typically approve batches of course-related comments once or twice a day, but you are welcome to approve those comments yourself, as they arrive, which means discussions on your blog will progress more quickly.)
To configure your blog to e-mail you comments, first log in as usual (by visiting blogs.setonhill.edu and filling in the user ID and password).
If you haven't already supplied the system with an e-mail address, click on "Edit Your Profile" and fill in the appropriate box. Then click "Save".
Now click on "Main Menu" and on the name of your blog.
Click on "Weblog Config".
From the horizontal menu at the top of the screen, click "Preferences."
One of the boxes is "Email New Comments." Put a check in that box.
Click on "Save Changes." You will see a message inviting you to rebuild your site. Click the button and select "Rebuild All."
