The Return of 'Recent Comments'

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

While the layout still needs some work, I've finally returned the "Recent Comments" feature to the blogs.setonhill.edu portal page.

The "Recent Comments" feature on the SHU blog portal had been busted since I upgraded to MT 3.2, due to a change in the way MT handles unwanted junk comments. (Previously MT had focused on blocking unwanted comments, which means that any comment in the database was assumed to be good; now MT accepts pretty much anything, but rates it as "Published," "Unpublished" or "Junk". These categories work very well within the individual blogs, but the changes broke the code I had hacked together in order to display recent comments from all SHU blogs.

Actually, I exclude my course-related blogs from that list, so as not to overwhelm this community portal with homework-related discussions.
