Paid Web Internship at SHU
E-Magnify Internet Communications Intern Position, Spring Semester 2007, 10-12 hours per week, resumes accepted beginning 11/13/06 until position filled.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Internet Communications Intern will serve as an extension of the E-Magnify Communications department and assist in the management of content, usability, and marketing of the web site, in keeping with the strategic direction of the center and project.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS NECESSARY FOR POSITION: Junior or Senior student is preferred. Excellent organizational, project management, and verbal/writing skills are required. Must have a familiarity with HTML and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Coursework in Multimedia, Graphic Design, Communications, English, and Marketing preferred.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports directly to the E-Magnify Internet Communications Coordinator. The Internet Communications Intern will also interact with all members of E-Magnify staff to ensure completion of the online and center-wide initiatives and goals.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the planning and implementation for the potential redevelopment of the design and layout of the E-Magnify website (www.e-magnify.com ) and the E-Magnify Extra! e-newsletter.
2. Conduct research and develop copy for 300 - 400 word length business articles to feature on the center’s website and in the E-Magnify Extra! e-newsletter.
3. Assist with copy editing and proof-reading of articles that will be posted on the website.
4. Assist with posting events to the online calendar.
5. Research and generate topics for a weekly online poll to post to website.
6. Assist Communications staff in developing and executing marketing projects and online initiatives for the annual Building A World Class Business conference.
7. Assist E-Magnify staff with other administrative items as necessary.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. Performs all other duties as required.
