Man Faces Charges After Mothers' Death

Police have charged a Greensburg man in relation to his mothers’ death last year. Allegedly, he was her caretaker and neglected to help her after she was burned in an accidental fire.

Victor McCurdy, 22, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and neglect of a care-dependent person after his mother, Rosemary McCurdy, 53, died last year. He appeared before District Judge James Albert yesterday.

On the day of her death, Mrs. McCurdy was taken to the hospital. Greensburg police described her as“…dehydrated, unkempt, and lying in her own filth” “… She weighed 70 pounds,”

The fire was caused by her smoking while on oxygen, police said. Also, she had little or no leg use due to multiple sclerosis, which she had for 17 years.

According to the Westmoreland County coroner’s office, she died from severe burns to her face, chest, and airway. It is accidental in manner, as she refused medical treatment after the fire.

Detectives could not be reached for comment.

Mr. McCurdy has a hearing Thursday. He is out on bond.

I’m guessing there will be a follow-up on Thursday.

"Armstrong man shoots self after wounding estranged wife"

Michelle Cousins of Manor was attacked by her husband, Wesley Cousins of Washington township. Prior to this, she filed a protection from abuse order against him.

The incident took place when he went to her house armed with a pistol. He fired several shots, causing damage to her abdomen and hand. She called 911 and was taken to  UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Nothing has been released from the hospital.

Her husband was found dead in a bedroom with a self-inflicted bullet wound to the chest.

This is really all the article says about the actual shooting. The rest is about domestic violence cases in the past month or so. It just elaborates on that for a while. I don't want to bore you with it like they did to me. Here's the link:http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/leadertimes/news/s_647620.html

It just seems like they needed to fill a bunch of space so they spewed out a bunch of information.

What if I just did that?

Pajamas are awesome! I like cake. Agh. Now there's cake on my pajamas. That's not cool.

Everyone likes cake and pajamas, but it's an understanding between humans and should never be written. It's also an understanding that domestic violence is bad, therefore it doesn't need constant mention. The story itself indicates that domestic violence leads to attempted murder/suicide, therefore it's bad. I'm sorry for rabbling. It really annoyed me.
