It is an online J-term course, so you can take it from anywhere where there’s internet access - you don’t have to be at SHU during J-Term.

In the last decade, a growing number of scholars have noticed the importance of video games to modern culture, as a form of story telling, as a form of teaching, and as a form of social commentary.

This course explores the nature of "fun," how "fun" is created and used by game designers, and how games reflect and shape the values of the culture in which they exist.

Stick to Facts Devoid of Personal Comments

In order for journalists to gain a loyal following of truth seeking readers they need to establish their infatuation with telling it.  Mentioned by Dr. Jerz : journalists who who are out to expose a hidden truth are often met with much opposition, so it is important for facts to check out.  A full-proof argument in the face of a corrupt opposition is sure to stand the test of time.  It is also important for expository pieces to lack the personal opinion of the writer so they are not made out to seem like some kind of personal vendetta.
