The Greensburg Community Development Corporation is looking to hire interns for spring 2017 semester! Interviews will be held during November with the student selected before the conclusion of the fall semester.
College students majoring in English, communication, journalism, marketing and business are encouraged to apply. The internship will focus on print and electronic promotional methods sharing information with businesses, organizations, institutions and residents in Greensburg. The intern will be given assignments to build a portfolio featuring writing, editing, public relations and computer skills.
To become an intern, an applicant must show an interest in promoting the City of Greensburg as well as possessing highly developed skills in writing and editing. While at the GCDC, the intern will interview local business owners and community leaders, coordinate Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts about community events and design real estate promotional sheets.
A significant assignment will be writing content and completing the layout of the electronic newsletter called ThinkGreensburg. This bi-weekly newsletter is emailed to 1,200 community and business contacts.
Students going into their senior year are highly encouraged to apply, as this is a great opportunity to learn more about editing, writing, business and marketing.
