I have a very small number of mint-condition, still-sealed-in-the-plastic-bag Rainbow Hectors. I've sold exactly one, to a mother whose daughter lost her Rainbow Hector and was despondent without it.
Did they stop making them completely? or is there just a limited number that get made?
A couple years ago, I got an e-mail from a retailer who said that Gund is "retiring" Rainbow Hector. I interpreted that as meaning that no more would be produced.
I bought several Rainbow Hectors on ebay. They appear from time to time, usually as part of a toy lot. The last store I saw them in was Toys R Us but that was probably over 4 years ago.
