My Favorite Classics
"I like looking intently down into your eyes. It makes me feel like I am in control."
Gone With the Wind-a definite classic. It has everything that a classic should have: a hunk, a pretty gal, and lots of challenges that await them in the Good ol' South.
A Streetcar Named Desire-Marlon Brando and Vivian Leigh--need I say more?
Harvey-Jimmy Stewart talking to an invisible seven-foot something rabbit, mental institutions, and pookas. And that the most crazy idea imagineable happens makes this an amazing classic film.
"Can't you see him?"
Dirty Dancing-Patrick Swayze and enough dancing to make you want to fly like Jennifer Grey. Dance films like Flashdance and Saturday Night Fever are amazing too. They will come in future editions of this site.
"Can we do this another time?"
E.T. The Extraterrestrial-Who couldn't love that little guy? And Drew Barrymore put him in a dress.'
"Watch where you're pointing that thing Vader!"
Star Wars Trilogy-"Luke I am your father." It gives me chills just talking about the films of George Lucas.
To Kill a Mockingbird-Boo Radley, southern prejudice, and a bunch of kids. What a flick.
The Birds-Hitchcockian horror (almost redundant) makes me think, or at least look at wildlife--especially beady-eyed birds--in a different light
The Wizard of Oz-Don't we all just want to go over the rainbow? FYI: The horses in Oz had gelatin on their coats to make them colorful. They kept licking it because it tastes good.
Keep followin' that road girl.
West Side Story-Love found amid the prejudices of New York: not a very original plot--but all of the others copycatted from this amazing musical
Monty Python and the Holy Grail-"We are the knights who say neh!" not to mention the killer rabbits.
Neh! Neh! Neh!
Twelve Angry Men-Henry Fonda, the play-like structure of the film, excellent cast.
