What did we do??

It seems that when something goes wrong here at SHU the baseball team is the first to blame.

I just dont get what is going on up here on the hill. When something bad happens everyone assumes that a baseball player did it or had something to do with it. I just dont understand why everyone thinks this way about the group of guys we have. We are very lucky to have the kids we have and NO they are not the cause of any trouble. Guys will be guys and everyone must understand that, but there are more than the 35 baseball players here at this school.

In the Havey dorms things have been getting ruined and people have been getting mad. Well today i overheard that people were saying it had to be the baseball team. I dont get it, were the new guys so i guess we are going to take the heat for everything. I dont think that is going to happen anymore. The baseball team is here for two reason, one to play baseball and two to get an education. Hopefully people will start to realize that SHU is very lucky to have gotten the group of guys they did. Things could be a lot worse than you think they are!

In my best effort to not sound like I'm attacking you, I am going to comment.

I am not at Seton Hill, so I can only imagine what is happening in Havey. We made bets last year to see how long it would take the new freshmen to burn it down though, so I'm impressed it's still standing.

But as far as you wondering why exactly everyone assumes it's the baseball players, it's because we all read the Tribune-Review. I'm more than 3 hours away, and I still got wind of this article: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/westmoreland/s_156575.html

So before you try to pretend like you are so innocent, and such a saintly athlete, you should take responsibility for the contributions you personally have made to others' opinions of your team.

Yes i totally understand what happened and what was in the newspaper. Although in that Article it had nothing to do at all with the baseball team that was a stuiped action that myself made and I will pay for that. Other than that we have done nothing wrong. We do the same as everyone else but if something happens they come to us. They dont ask anyone else what happend they just assume it was a baseball player. Honestly i just want to clean the slate and start over.

True, the actions of one should not reflect on the whole -- that stinks for everyone else. I'm glad you want a blank slate, that must mean you plan to keep it clean. :)

See you in class.

I too believe in the ability of people to start a clean slate, and hope your intentions are sincere. Changing the opinions of others though is the tough part, and is only achieved by keeping the slate clean over time. Good luck!

Before everyone knows it the baseball team will be the talk of the town. Not the bad talk but the good talk, the talk about them having a great season. I just hope everyone realizes that the baseball team is not a group of bad kids some make not so good decisions but they are going to change that asap!
