Roberts, Writing About Literature: Ideas about characters

Roberts, Ch.17 -- Jerz: American Lit II (EL 267)

Ideas about a character and the interactions of characters ... What is A like? How does A grow or change in the work? What does A learn or not learn that brings about the conclusion? To what degree does A represent a type or an idea? How does B influence A? Does a change in C bring about any corresponding change in A? (225)

I think these kinds of questions would most appropriately fit the topic and approach of my literary research paper. I examined the interactions between two characters, Hulga and "Manley Pointer," in Flannery O'Connor's "Good Country People."
