I've been trying to download the "evil hectapus" all weekend with no success.

I've been trying to work on both the workshops all weekend, but I've still got nothing. I'm very confused.

Thanks for the feedback... we'll spend some more time on this today.

Is the Images assignment still due for Wednesday?

Posted by: Vanessa at September 28, 2004 09:57 AM

Yes, it is... try to get as far as you can.

I have the directory "workshop" instead of "workshops"
Is that a problem?

Posted by: Evan at September 28, 2004 07:36 PM

Yes it is, Evan. We humans are much smarter than computers, and can tolerate errors easily. These kinds of details are extremely frustrating but extremely important whenever you are working with computers.

I figured everything out except for how to make the thumbnail a link to a download of the medium-sized pic. I got it to link to a page where nothing but the image is displayed; I don't know how to use HTML to make something downloadable, though.

Chris, actually that's fine. You can download the picture instead of displaying it by right-clicking and choosing "Save Target As...".

Oh, good. Thanks Dr. Jerz.

I'm sure I am becoming your favorite student by now, because I still don't understand any of this technological stuff. I am on step 6.... and I am STUCK there. I keep reading it over, and over, and over--nothing is registering. Learning technology, for me, is like teaching a 67 year old country woman from Oklahoma how to speak English properly. I ain't never gonna be learned if I ain't showed howta do it (even then I think it takes a few times for me to catch on--sorry)... :) Any volunteers? My second to last class is at 2:50pm! My last class begins at 5pm ShArP...

Dr. Jerz, I swear I had this thing down, but obviously I don't. It's 3:35, and Stormy and I have been working on our pages, and still, we can't get them to show up online. I transfered my files like I was supposed to, and even then, the changes on my main page won't show up. I'm frustrated because I know I have the pages finished (to the best of my ability) but it shows up on the site as if they aren't created! >:\ I doubt anyone can run up to Brownlee by 4:00...but I'm just letting you know that this is the most frustrating thing EVER!
