How do you use right words!?

Jerz, ''Poetry is for the Ear'' -- Jerz: EL150 (Intro to Literary Study)

"Free verse is not, as the name implies, a string of random or completely uncontrolled words. Free verse aims to emulate the patterns of everyday speech, or the stream of consciousness, or the weirdly distorted patterns of the world of dreams, or who knows what--

I think that it is important to understand the difference between using random words and words that fit in a poem. That would include using meter and rhyme and other techniques that are important for a developing poem. Overall, I agree with this quote that it is important to let your free verse writing emulate different symbols in your life.
