« What's better than candy?...Death | Main | They're all the same! »

Death is not really that scary... but hell is.

Metihinketh that I hear angels sing And make great joy and melody, Where Everyman's soul received shall be.
Anonymous, ''Everyman'' -- Jerz: EL150 (Intro to Literary Study)

After reading this passage, I decided that although Everyman dies in the end of the play "Everyman," the ending tone is not sad but truimphant as he enters into heaven. The whole play serves as an allegory that emphasizes the coming of every man's final judgement. While Everyman fears the journey death summons him to in the beginning of the play he learns that through his good deeds he will enter into heaven.
