Ignorance proudly leads her to her fall.
Nam'd Joy at birth, now Hulga people call
The girl who changed her name from joy to gloom
and reads depressing books from dawn 'til noon.
She thougt she'd trick a simple country boy,
And, with genius, she'd pull a clever ploy,
But ploy and reason fail. With one lost leg,
Joy learns some country boys cannot be begged.

A life of deception, ignorance and bliss,
was were this man called pointer was heading;
wooing women with sweet talk and a kiss,
with a bible in his hand but never a wedding.
