black swirls across the sky
mixing with orange and yellow, colors of a summer sunset
ethereal colors of a world beyond
touching the church steeple
wrapping it in a warm night embrace
purple mountains hovering
reflecting the moon's gaze
basking in its vain glory
small town
safe in shadows
falling asleep to the night's symphony
unreal
unattainable
eternal peace
glowing with the calm of midnight
the silence of rest
the hope of tomorrow
yet the safety
of the night
celestial bodies looking down
smiling sweetly
sharing their light
as the black swirls across the sky
and the milky way fades
This is a poem about Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. It simply describes my perception of the famous piece of artwork.
I really like how you made this poem a very visual poem-- it relates perfectly to the painting. I also like how you ended the poem in a way that it goes back to the beginning.
Great job, I enjoyed reading this!
Thank you Kaitlin! Paintings are such great inspiration! What are your favorite works of art?
I'm a fan of Monet-esque painting, and I like Starry Night too. Basically, any art that has vibrant colors is fine by me!
