Bad Blood

O'Connor, ''A Good Man is Hard to Find'' -- Jerz: EL150 (Intro to Literary Study)

" You don't look a bit like you have common blood. I know you must come from nice people!"

this quote just struck me as a bit funny, with the grandmother trying to reason with the killer telling him he comes from good people so he must be good. It just seems so wrong, and the grandmothers whole frame of thinking like what is "common blood" and how does that make you bad or worse then everybody else ?
