Touch the Sky

Poetry Selections -- Jerz: EL150 (Intro to Literary Study)

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

This poem was my favorite out of the bunch because as a kid I loved the swings. Mind you I had a fear of heights but on a swing that didn't matter, all I cared about was touching the sky. I think Stevenson caught the feeling a kid gets when their on the swing, up in the air. The only sad thing about it is swings are for "children" and as an adult you kinda miss being able to touch the sky. Not that I still don't get on swings, because I do, it's the kid in me that will never die lol
