No theme? No problem!

Being a somewhat indecisive person, I could not nail down a solid theme I knew I could stick with. So I decided to write about whatever is coming my way, you know, whatever pops up and seems interesting. Otherwise I would most likely get bored and write about my topic out of necessity rather than passion. That being said, you can probably expect me to write about interesting things going on in the horse industry, poetry I am reading, and a smattering of random topics. Now that I've decided to be indecisive, I can move on to the topic for this blog post.

Last week a friend and I attended a concert. Let me just mention, the desire to attend this concert has been at least 10 years in the making. Two words, Backstreet Boys. Right now you are either in complete understanding of my excitement or shaking your head. It was a wednesday night during the first week of classes and an hour out of our way, but obviously we did not care. Judging by the large crowd, we are definitely not alone in our continued support of the band. I think there is something special surrounding the music, artists, tv shows, movies, you grow up listening to and watching. This kind of music always has a place on my itunes and still racks up the play count.

Is there any artist or band from your childhood that you would still see in concert? I hope the answer is yes! Because this particular concert was the best I have ever attended. I encourage you to listen to an old song.. hopefully it brings a smile to your face.

It's funny how nostalgia can sometimes make you feel, right? I grew up listening to the New Kids on the Block, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, and although I've never seen any of them in concert when I hear them on the radio I get that exciting sort of warm fuzzy feeling inside. It's like, even though some of the music sucked pretty bad in retrospect (NKOTB, OMG), because there are positive memories associated with it I can't help but love it. Have you thought about having your blog focus on guilty pleasures like the BSB? That's still pretty expansive, but it gives you a little cohesion and a theme to market yourself with.

I can completely relate (to your indecisiveness, not so much the BSB affinity). I too chose a blog theme with flexibility so that I wouldn't dread returning to it each week. I love music from my past. In fact, I prefer it to the newer stuff. A memorable song is like an old photo, both can capture the essence of a moment. As for guilty listening pleasures, mine is Eiffel 65 "Blue." Don't judge.

I listen to "Blue" too! It's a good song.

I would also like to add that I attended this concert with you and it was the best ever. Better than the High School Musical concert I went to... haha. I'm lame.
